MARTIN COMPSTON opens in the UK on the 9th May in his latest feature DOOMSDAY, directed by Neil Marshall. In April, Martin filmed LAST NIGHT AT THE TAVERN for Sorbier Films/BBC and wrapped Scottish feature ROUNDING UP DONKEYS and the American horror RED MIST. His 2006 film TRUE NORTH, co-starring Peter Mullan, has its German premiere in Cologne on May 18th to considerable European critical acclaim ~ KATE DICKIE has a cameo in the Hollywood blockbuster SPEED RACER (directed by the Warchowski Bros.) which premieres in the UK on April 29th and is on general release from May 9th. She wrapped ROUNDING UP DONKEYS, the companion film to the multi-award winning RED ROAD, in April, and has just returned from filming PUSSYFOOTING in Stockholm to shoot GIRL IN THE BRANCHES for Sorbier Films/BBC. Kate co-stars in SUMMER, with Robert Carlyle, and Shane Meadow's SOMERS TOWN, both opening later in the year ~ DONNA GIFFEN is filming the supernatural thriller NIGHT INTO DAY in Italy ~ NEW TOWN KILLERS, directed by Richard Jobson, featuring JOHN YULE and BILLY RIDDOCH, has wrapped in Edinburgh ~ WASTED, starring NEIL LEIPER, films this month, directed by Stuart Davids and Caroline Patterson ~

 

 

 

On TV ~ KATHLEEN MCDERMOTT is filming a leading role as 'the wannabe wag' and MAXI MOFFATT is a zombie in BALLOON WARS for E4, written by Charlie Brooker ~ SHABANA BAKHSH is filming series four of WATERLOO ROAD as Jasmine until November (the season is to be screened on BBC1 in early 2009) ~ LINZI CAMPBELL makes her TV debut in TAGGART this month ~ MARTIN DOCHERTY films the new series of DEAR GREEN PLACE  in the summer ~ PURVES AND PEKKALA, has wrapped, featuring EWAN DONALD, JULIET CADZOW and JORDAN YOUNG ~ KARI CORBETT will be back on THE ROYAL on ITV1 soon, she films HOLLYOAKS this month ~ JANINE MELLOR continues into her fourth year as Kelsey on CASUALTY (BBC1) ~ EILEEN MCCALLUM,  MICHELLE O'BRIEN and GORDON MCCORKELL are on their summer break from RIVER CITY from mid-May until August ~ JULIE HALE is in FAIR CITY ~ JULIET CADZOW is Edie McRedie in BALAMORY, JENNIFER LOWRIE is in HEDZ and ROSS ALLAN plays Nurse Henry in ME TOO! ~

 

 

 

In the theatre ~ SHONAGH PRICE is blowing TRUMPETS AND RASPBERRIES at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh ~ GREG POWRIE and DOUGAL LEE are in the Pitlochry Season opening 16th May with WILD HONEY ~ REBECCA MCQUILLAN is in THE SOUND OF MY VOICE at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow ~ HELEN MCALPINE leads SWINDLE AND DEATH Mull Theatre on a Scottish national tour ~ A Play, A Pie and A Pint, from the award winning David MacLennann  & the Glasgow Lunchtime Theatre continues at Oran Mor with VINCENT FRIEL DAVID IRELAND JULIET CADZOW and DANIELLE STEWART appearing in new and original one act plays ~ SABRINA CARTER joins the cast of WICKED at the Apollo Victoria, London in June ~ ROSS ALLAN is in MOUSSA'S CASTLE on tour ~ JONATHAN HOLT is on the acclaimed tour of BLACK WATCH  (National Theatre of Scotland), arriving at the Barbican in London in June ~
