TV News

KATE DICKIE has one further filming block in Budapest on mega-spectacular multi-national tv blockbuster THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH to complete her role as Agnes opposite 'husband' Rufus Sewell. Author of the novel Ken Follet joined the cast filming a one scene cameo to look out for when this eight hour miniseries is broadcast in mid-2010 worldwide. ~

KATHLEEN MCDERMOTT and ANTHONY BOWERS give their fantastic comedic all for Ford Kiernan in HAPPY HOLLIDAYS (BBC Scotland only – Fridays and Mondays from Sept 4th for six weeks) - brand new original comedy from  the co-creator of STILL GAME set at a caravan park with a misanthropic manager. Also in the cast to watch out for in separate episodes are BILLY RIDDOCH and JAMES WATSON.

Returning after some years and a smash reunion Christmas special to set them up - RAB C NESBITT is back and JORDAN YOUNG (Legit, Black Watch) is confirmed to join the cast as regular character Malky, who is Rab's greatest fan at their A A meetings – filming in the autumn in Glasgow ~

SHONAGH PRICE is in Norway and Shetland filming the final series of BLUE SKY BLUE (HimmelblŒu), the hit Norwegian TV drama series that is attracting an all-time audience record. A remake of the BBC hit '2000 Acres of Sky', Shonagh plays a sexy Shetlander who captures the heart of one of the show's leading men ~

RIVER CITY regulars GORDON MCCORKELL and EILEEN MCCALLUM are back filming the next block of the long running BBC Scotland weekly drama with MARTIN DOCHERTY returning as everyman philosopher Gas Engineer ~ EILEEN is the subject of a very special programme made by Tony Kearney and Jim Webster's new production company SOLUS – a documentary highlighting Eileen's tireless campaigning to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a condition her two grandson's have. BAILACH EILEEN (EILEEN'S BOYS) screens on BBC Alba on Tuesday 22nd September at 9pm with a broadcast on BBC2 tbc later in the year. We are very proud to support Eileen's charitable efforts and urge you to watch the programme on BBC iplayer from Sept 23rd ~

JOHN PAUL HURLEY has completed WALLANDER: THE FIFTH WOMAN in Sweden playing the unexpectedly named Sven – it's great to have an internationally acclaimed series co-produced by BBC Scotland – maybe Norwegian characters could be played by Scottish artists?
