KATE DICKIE is starring in the chilling thriller OUTCAST, shooting through March and April and co-starring James Nesbitt - "OUTCAST draws on ancient Scottish and Irish myths of the Sidhe or Sith, an ancient race with magical powers, which traditionally can include invisibility and the ability to see into the future."  THE HERALD - Filming in Scotland wrapped at the end of March after Software: Microsoft Officecausing traffic stopping antics all over the Borders. In Dalkeith (see pic. on front page courtesy of Sigma Films blog and Dougie Wood who took it) James Nesbitt was stalking Kate (in a scene from the film) while crowds out shopping were stalking Mr Nesbitt and Ms Dickie with their mobile phones and cameras videoing the stars from all angles right up to Action – they were gracious in all things. . . The shoot now moves to Galway for principal studio photography.

MARTIN COMPSTON has wrapped the CinemaNX production THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED co-starring Gemma Arterton and Eddie Marson. This kidnap drama written and directed by J Blakeson (DESCENT 2) is a three hander, and was an intense shoot involving very physical performances and action sequences and is already gaining considerable industry interest awaiting its late 2009 release. 

Software: Microsoft OfficeOn general release THE DAMNED UNITED - Martin Compston plays John O'Hare (13 caps for Scotland) and the cast also features STEWART ROBERTSON as Archie Gemmill (capped 43 times and 22 times captain of Scotland), to Michael Sheen's Brian Clough (enuff said, young man) ~ KATE DICKIE co-stars with MATTHEW WORKMAN and SEAN KELLY in SUMMER. Directed by Kenny Glennan, EIFF Best Actor award winner Robert Carlyle plays the lead role (Kate is his Mum and Matthew and Sean are his younger selves)~

 

Awaiting release: ~ Martin Compston's SOULED OUT (working title for the Northern Soul Saturday Night Fever with a score featuring Duffy and Paul Weller!) premieres this year ~ And with KATE DICKIE and co-starring James Cosmo, Martin has ROUNDING UP DONKEYS, the companion film to their 2006 international hit RED ROAD, also coming up ~

BRYAN LARKIN takes the lead role in TOWNSVILLE - also starring JOHN PAUL HURLEY - this is a hi-tech green screen and online link up police procedural transmitting at Easter (watch listings mags for details) on BBC2 Scotland ~

 

KATE DICKIE is to film DIVE (a two parter for Granada) written and directed by Dominic Savage, in May, playing the diving instructor to two teenage water babies in this original coming of age drama ~

REBECCA MCQUILLAN is on the final weeks of the tour of PACK OF LIES, directed by Christopher Morahan, starring Jenny Seagrove, Lorna Luft and Simon Shepherd. Produced by Bill Kenwright, with a possible West End season to follow later in the year, Rebecca is in Malvern and Cardiff this month ~
